Signature HealthCARE (SHC) was founded in 2007 with a vision to radically change the landscape of long-term care forever. But SHC leaders spent years before laying the groundwork…
The team came together in 1999 under Signature predecessor Home Quality Management, Inc. The same year, nearly all of the nation’s nursing homes filed bankruptcy due to certain legislation that was enacted.
HQM pressed on and created sowed the seeds for a long-term care revolution. By 2006, the company had launched its Spirituality and Quality of Life programs, including the Hall of Fame Café, which honors residents for their extraordinary achievements.
The following year, HQM launched its Learning pillar as a means to extend educational opportunities to its employees in the field. The same year, Joe Steier partnered with the ARBA Group and HQM became Signature HealthCARE.
In 2010, Signature relocated its corporate headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to Louisville, Kentucky – home to many leaders in the long-term care industry.
Signature has continued to expand and now has 73 facilities in seven states, with more than 12,000 employees. Ancillary companies, new programs and community outreach have continued to grow.
The Revolution Continues!
