Celebrating Earth Day With Signature Volunteers

APRIL 22, 2019

Louisville, Ky. – April 22, 2019 – Earth Day is being celebrated all across Signature HealthCARE with various gardening activities, floral crafting, and educational sessions on how we can keep our environment clean and protected.

Individuals at Signature HealthCARE of Jacksonville are recognizing Earth Day by intertwining it with Volunteer Month. They are freshening up their garden, which is located on the patio outside of the memory-care unity, with long-time Jacksonville volunteer and Hall of Fame member, Patti Britt.

Patti has a passion for gardening and is always excited to share her talents with those at Signature. Every spring, she maintains the garden alongside residents to ensure it’s receiving all the necessary nutrients to blossom and flourish.

Patti’s sister resides at Signature HealthCARE of Jacksonville, so gardening for the facility holds a special place in her heart.

“I like volunteering at Signature because I like to make people happy,” Patti said. “My mom was a social worker and she worked hard to help people. Because of her example, I also love to help people.”

Having the garden outside makes life brighter for residents and gives them something to look forward to every spring. Join us in celebrating Earth Day and Volunteer Month by getting out and supporting, protecting, and keeping the environment clean. You can even help out with gardening at one of our Signature HealthCARE locations by signing up to volunteer at http://signaturevolunteer.com/.
